To demonstrate the energy stored in a capacitor

Energy in a Capacitor

Description

A charging circuit charges up the capacitor to 2.5 kV in approximately 20 seconds. The switch is used to isolate the capacitor from the power supply. The screwdriver is used to short the terminals of the capacitor which discharges with a mighty spark and sound effects.
