Aim
To demonstrate that like charges repel.
Apparatus
- Pith balls on stand
- Charging rod
- Cats fur
- (Alternatively) Pith Balls and Power Supply

Description
A charged rod (rubbed with cats fur in the usual way) is placed in contact with the pith balls. The pith balls are immediately repelled from the rod and each other. Alternatively, a power supply can be used to charge the pith balls.
