Aim
To demonstrate a hand cranked centrifuge.
Apparatus
- Bench mounted centrifuge
- Prepared mixture of chalk dust and water.

Description
Finely tuned chalk dust is dissolved in a test tube of water and the solution displayed to the class. This solution is placed in one arm of the centrifuge and the other arm is filled with water for balancing purposes. Working the centrifuge for a few minutes results in the chalk being forced out of the solution.
