Aim
To demonstrate a model that illustrates the interatomic force.
Apparatus
- Linear air track
- Compression spring

Description
The air track is inclined at a small angle and a compression spring attached to one end of the track. A glider placed on the air track experiences the gravitational force of attraction at large distances of separation and a strong repulsive force when in close proximity to the atom (binding post).
