Oa-5 Real Image

Aim

To demonstrate the formation of a real image by a concave mirror.

Apparatus

• Searchlight mirror
• Light globe in box
• Black cloth

Description

The box containing an ordinary light globe is positioned at the radius of curvature of the searchlight mirror. The height of the mirror is adjusted to make sure the object is placed correctly in the vertical plane. The real image is quite dramatic and is viewed best directly with the naked eye.
