Sausage Cooker Pic

The heating effect of an electric current may be demonstrated by passing a current through a sausage. A Variac is adjusted to supply approximately 200V A.C. and the sausage will start to hiss and crackle taking about 2 to 3 minutes to cook. Microswitches attached to the plastic panels ensure that power is disconnected whenever access is available to the electrodes.
